U.S. missile shield research underway in Poland
Not losing any time - research for US base in Poland
Bogdan Klich, the Civic Platform Minister of Defence stated on Polish Radio 3 today that the coming week would be of great importance to the process of negotiations with the U.S. gvt. regarding the proposed 'anti-missile shield.'
Klich also said that the Polish and Czech governments have been keeping in touch as regard developments with the US on the project

Adbusting in Slupsk - Advertising something 'Real', March 29th demo. against US base
I just happened to pay a visit to Redzikowo last week, the proposed ex-Soviet military base for the 'shield.'
Poor barricade security entrance at the base
Security is virtually non-existent and I observed quite a lot of activity within the base itself.
According to a local source those present are doing research for the shield. From my own observations this seemed to be geodetic research. When I asked the source whether he knew if Americans were already working at the base, he surprisingly answered that those conducting research were German.
I couldn't find out whether this was true or not. Maybe U.S. engineers/scientists have come from their German bases to conduct research? Or they have subcontracted out the work to a German firm? Or he was covering himself by making a blatant lie so he wouldn't get in trouble.
Geodetic surveyors at Redzikowo base?
The source also stated that it was widely believed in the area that the deal was 90% complete. I'll go one better Mr. J. and say that it's already 190% complete. I've been saying it for well over 6 months and many have argued to the contrary. Tine will tell.
The procrastinations by the Polish gvt. are mere diplomatic manouvering so as not to look like they were a bunch of walkovers. They'll get some modernisation of their army in the end and they'll pat themselves on the backs for growing in the hierarchy of the warmonger club. Oh yeah, that is after they pull us off the streets and bash us as we blockade the builders!
So we certainly need local people to start monitoring the base weekly to check out what the Polish gvt. and it's agents are up to in Redzikowo over the coming weeks and months.
On March 29th hundreds of peace-loving anti-militarists will descend upon Slupsk and Redzikowo to voice their opposition to the planned missile base.
We invite all Slupsk, Redzikowo and residents of the locality to speak out against their warprofiteering gvt. and join us in street theatre, speaking with those not yet convinced it's such a bad thing, distributing leaflets to people in the locality, and beginning the process of demilitarising the Polish gvt.'s missile-fantasy plans.

I checked out the M29 link though and it was very interesting. You might still see me there, but perhaps for saftey reasons don't hold your breath :)
Are ya trying to say a bunch of anarchists and ordinary folk scare ya?;)))
Well, in Slupsk there will be Food Not Bombs (free quality veggie food), street speaking, street theatre, then prob. film shows, concert, etc. In Redzikowo we hope to join locals who are as just as pissed off as we are with military developments:

I just read the cole link. Very interesting. I need however to think it over some more.
V. it would be good to see ya there though I'll take ur advice and breathe as normal. The residents of Redzikowo are none too please with the situation. The chairman of the gmina has sent a letter to Tusk saying that the majority are against the developments:
