Equality Parade in Warsaw

Amnesia Kicking In?
I completely forgot about the Equality Parade in Warsaw today, which was due to set off from parliament buildings at 2p.m. Anyhow the good news is that it is legal, the Civic Platoform Mayor of Warsaw commenting that there are no grounds to ban the parade. She said on Polish Radio that opposing the parade would fly in the face of the latest ruling of the European Court of Human Rights in Strasbourg.

Nasty History
I attended the 2005 march which was banned by then mayor of Warsaw and now president of Poland, Lech Kaczynski. It was a fun loving atmosphere until a bunch of fascist assholes started running around, some with iron bars, clobbering and scaring seven shades of shit out of nonviolent human rights activists. The Strasbourg ruling said that the ban violated 3 articles of the European Convention of Human Rights. I also attended last year's march which was a peaceful affair with a great turnout of about 5,000.

Though All Polish Youth, the quasi-fascist youth wing of gvt. coalition partner League of Polish Families demanded the mayor of the capital ban the parade to "protect public morality", she admirably refused to bow to such a breach of the fundamental rights to assembly and free speech. Krzysztof Bosak, one of the intolerants, stressed that the family, defined as a relation between man and woman, is of a constitutionally protected value.

Suggestions to bigots
Yeah, so go to the park and spend the beautiful day that it is with your family rather than interfering in and trying to curtail others rights you idiot. The irrationality of people in All Polish Youth and LPR is ludicrous - they believe you can talk someone into homosexuality! Therefore gay teachers should be purged from schools so as not to infect the minds of the youth. Give us a break you turds - purging schools and public institutions of intolerant bigots like you is what needs to be done; that is, of course, through logical argument and the annihilation of false fears yuou have bogeymen and women that only exist in your warped sense of morality.
