The land where coffee originated has found a new way to utilise one of it's most famous products - coffee condoms.
According to the US charity DKT International
Around 300,000 of the coffee condoms were sold in one week when they were launched in September
It is believed that over 2% of Ethiopians are infected with Aids while the capital, Addis Ababa, has a 7% prevalence rate. The condoms smell like Ethiopia's popular macchiato, which costs about 1/2 the price of a cup of coffee.
The burning question remains though, will it be possible to get fair trade coffee condoms?
